US Equities rise, investors to focus on earnings
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The US stocks opened higher today in line with the performance of the equity futures throughout the day. The indices have ended a three-day downfall by posting modest gains today.
The DJIA is trading 0.41% higher at 16,387, while the S&P futures are trading 0.92% higher at 1882.15. Moreover, despite the sharp fall this month, the DJIA is only 1.5% down this year while the S&P is up 1.4%. Investors will look at the earnings as a reassurance that the US economy is on track, even if the global economy is stagnating.
Among the big companies expected to report earnings this week are J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Netflix Inc. and Google. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co shall announce its results today.
DJIA Technical levels
DJIA tested the resistance level of 16,429 today, however, the prices have declined to 16,387 levels at the time of writing. The index has an immediate support of 16,333 levels (Aug 7 low).
