Canada: May Ivey PMI soars to highest since March 2011

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - 1The Canadian Ivey Purchasing Manager's Index jumped to 70.8 in May from 50.9 in April, according to data issued by the Richard Ivey School of Business. This is the highest level registered by the indicator since March 2011, when it stood at 73.2.

Seasonally adjusted Canadian Ivey Purchasing Manager's Index grew to 63.1 in May from 52.2 in April, above expectations of rising to 57.

EUR/USD hits fresh 4-week high

The euro picked up momentum and extended gains versus the dollar after ECB President Mario Draghi said the bank is technically ready to introduce negative deposit rates, although he sees no reason to act on that at the moment.
