EUR/CHF trades close to 1-1/2 Year low

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The EUR/CHF extended losses and trades near 1-1/2 year low, consolidating above 1.2 handle.

The pair trades modestly flat at 1.2025 levels, at time of writing. The EUR/CHF pair remains pressured as the single currency continues its downside streak against the US dollar, to trade over 2 years low. EUR/USD pair trades at 1.2264 levels, down -0.16% on the day.

The Swiss currency also remains subdued against the Euro after country’s inflation remained flat in November, while retail sales rose 0.3% in October, as per the latest data from the Federal Statistical Office.

EUR/CHF Technical Levels

To the upside, the next resistance is located at 1.2031 (100-day SMA), above which it could extend gains to 1.2046 (Dec 3 High) levels. To the downside immediate support might be located at 1.2010 (Dec 5 Low), below that at 1.1986 (Dec 4 Low) levels.

Expect a Fed rate hike mid-year 2015 – SG
