Key events ahead: All eyes on the Eurogroup meeting – Danske

FXStreet (Barcelona) - Jens Nærvig Pedersen, Senior Analyst at Danske Bank, shares the key events for the day ahead, expecting the eurogroup meeting to fail to see any agreement today.

Key Quotes

“An extraordinary Eurogroup meeting is scheduled for today and at the top of the agenda is the situation in Greece. We do not expect an agreement to be reached today as Greece will likely push the decision as long as possible. A second Eurogroup meeting is scheduled already for next week and EU leaders will hold a summit tomorrow to discuss both Greece and Russia.”

“Fed’s Fisher is scheduled to speak. He is a non-voting member of the FOMC this year and one of the most hawkish participants. He voted against the FOMC statement numerous times last year as he prefers a more hawkish stance from the Fed.”

“Monetary policy in Denmark and Danmarks Nationalbank will likely be in the spotlight again as downward pressure on EUR/DKK prevails. Norwegian Q4 GDP is also due for release.”
