US equities starts week off positively

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market climbed higher Monday with memories of Fridays robust NFP still in investors mind.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ rose +0.28% as it settles in region of 3489.00, up +9.89 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1640.53, ascending +8.88 points or +0.53% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved higher at the opening, trading in the zone of 15225.36, presently +0.59% after a movement of +89.74 points.

Sectors are all higher at the opening, however the Energy and Consumer Cyclical sectors have distinguished themselves as the winners thus far, rising +0.66% and +0.70% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1233.54 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $19.10 per oz. Monday.

USD/CHF consolidates around 0.9650

The USD/CHF entered in a consolidation phase on Monday after reaching fresh multi-week highs propelled by the US NFP report.
