AUD/USD soars to fresh highs, on its way to 0.7800

FXStreet (Mumbai) - AUD/USD rallied to fresh session highs in the late-Asian session backed by sharp decline in the US dollar across the board and higher commodity prices.

AUD/USD rises from 0.7745 levels

Currently, the AUD/USD trades at fresh session highs at 0.7791 levels, recording a 0.70% gain on the day. The Aussie jumped to fresh highs after US dollar resumed its downslide across its major counterparts. Moreover, sharp gains in precious metals, copper and oil prices also boosted the commodity-backed currency.

Earlier in the session, AUD/USD remained lifted on RBA Steven’s dovish comments on the exchange rate which bolstered the Australian dollar.

AUD/USD Technical Levels

The pair has an immediate resistance at 0.7800 levels, above which gains could be extended to 0.7819 (20-DMA) levels. On the flip side, support is seen at 0.7738 from here it to 0.7700 levels.
