AUD/USD capped by 0.7800

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - The Aussie dollar is gaining ground vs. the greenback on Monday, lifting AUD/USD to the upper-0.7700s.

AUD/USD eyes on RBA minutes

The risk sentiment continues to sustain the occasional bullish attempts in AUD, although the 0.7800 neighbourhood still remains elusive for AUD bulls. “The outlook for this pair is still mixed and further choppy trading is likely for today. Expected range; 0.7725/0.7795”, suggested analysts at UOB Group.

Ahead in the week, the RBA minutes are due tomorrow, with market participants expecting a repetition of the recent tone from the Statement on Monetary Policy published last Friday.

AUD/USD relevant levels

As of writing the pair is advancing 0.16% at 0.7780 and a surpass of 0.7845 (high Feb.10) would target 0.7877 (high Feb.6) and then 0.7882 (38.2% of 0.8295-0.7627). On the flip side, the immediate support lies at 0.7721 (hourly low Feb.13) ahead of 0.7644 (low Feb.12) and then 0.7627 (low Feb.3)
