EUR/USD back below 1.0700 at 12-year lows
FXStreet (Córdoba) - After a short lived recovery, EUR/USD resumed the decline and printed a fresh 12-year low at 1.0692. The recovery of the pair was capped by the 1.0725 area and from there dropped to fresh lows. Currently it is trading at the lows as the euro falls across the board.
The EUR/USD pair is losing more than a hundred pips on Tuesday, falling for the eight time out of the last nine trading days as it remains weak amid Greek debt concerns and after the beginning of purchases of public debt by the European Central Bank. The pair is about to post the lowest daily close since April 7, 2003.
Greenback gained momentum in the market and stocks in Wall Street fell sharply, the Dow Jones was down 1.62% and the Nasdaq 1.45%. The US dollar climbed toward daily highs and it was losing ground only against the yen.
