Eurozone inflation drops 0.3% year-on-year in February
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The data released by the Eurostat today showed Eurozone annual inflation was -0.3% in February 20152 , up from -0.6% in January. The actual print was in line with the estimates.
The largest upward impacts to the Eurozone annual inflation came from restaurants & cafés (0.12%), rents (0.11% ) and tobacco (0.07%), while fuels for transport (0.64%), heating oil (0.19%) and telecommunications (0.06%) had the biggest downward impacts.
Month-on-month the CPI rose 0.6% in February, up from -1.6% seen in January. Meanwhile, annual core inflation ticked up to 0.7%, beating the estimate and the previous figure of 0.6%.
