Wall Street declines on mixed earning reports

FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US stocks market traded lower on Wednesday as companies alternated positive and negative earnings reports against a backdrop of increasing borrowing costs. Investors are speculating when the S&P 500 will reach the 1700 level and what will happen there.

The Dow Jones declines 25.50 points or 0.16% to end the day at 15,542.24. The S&P eased 6.45 pts or 0.38% to finish at 1,685.94. And the Nasdaq Composite was supported by Apple shares' gains and advanced 0.33 pts or 0.01% to 3,579.60.

Despite being boosted by larger-than-expected trade surplus, the NZD/USD only managed to have a brief drive through 0.80 before succumbing on the poor Chinese HSBC PMI data.
