US: Initial Jobless Claims rose to 343K

FXstreet.com (Edinburgh) - According to the Labour Department, the Americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits rose by 7K last week to a seasonally adjusted 343K in the week ended July 19, above expectations at 340K and coming from 336K (revised) in the previous print.

Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, fell by 119K to a seasonally adjusted 2.997 million in the week ended July 13 vs. 3.116 million in the previous week (revised).
