BOJ holds only moderate interest - Westpac
FXStreet (Bali) - Today’s Bank of Japan meeting holds only moderate interest for markets, with the Central Bank not expected to change its policy, notes Sean Callow, FX Strategist at Westpac.
Key Quotes
"Today’s Bank of Japan meeting holds only moderate interest for markets, with most discussion on policy change focused on 30 April instead, when the semi-annual economic outlook will be released."
"As usual there is no fixed time for the release, but most decisions come in the hour after 11:30am Tokyo/12:30pm Sydney/10:30am Sing/HK. Judging by recent meetings, a no change outcome could still see USD/JPY dip at least briefly. There is some chance that while the overall pace of QE is maintained, the composition of asset purchases is shifted slightly towards e.g. REITs."
