AUD/USD retreats below 0.7700 after Fed minutes

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The AUD/USD pair dropped below 0.7700 after the release of the FOMC minutes which showed that Fed members remain split about the timing of the “liftoff”. Price printed a fresh session low at 0.7671 and it was standing at 0.7690/94, up low at 0.75% for the day.

Greenback rose across the board after the document, reaching new daily highs versus the Euro, the Swiss franc and the loonie. The aussie continues to be the best performer in the currency market on Wednesday.

Despite moving off daily highs AUD/USD is headed toward the second daily gain in a row and the strongest close for the current month, holding a bullish tone after the Reserve Bank of Australia left rates unchanged on Tuesday.

NZD/USD: 0.75 handle under pressure

NZD/USD is currently trading at 0.7546 with a high of 0.7608 and a low of 0.7481.
