NZD/USD rises to test April highs

FXStreet (Córdoba) - NZD/USD rose more than 50 pips since the beginning of the American session amid a weak dollar in the market and is testing April highs.

NZD/USD back above 0.7700

The kiwi is rising versus the dollar for the third trading session in a row. From last week lows it climbed almost 200 pips. Recently the pair reached 0.7740, the highest level since mid January, marginally above last week highs.

So far, NZD/USD remains capped by the 0.7740 resistance area, unable to make a rally above. A break higher could open the doors for a rise toward 0.7790 - 0.7800, where the next medium term resistance area is located.

US economic data is pushing down the US dollar across the board, favoring the bullish outlook for the NZD/USD pair, that currently trades at 0.7720/25, up 1% for the day.
