Germany: Trade surplus widens more than projected in June
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - On a seasonally adjusted basis German trade surplus widened to €15.7 billion in June from €14.6 billion in May, according to data released today by Destatis. Analysts expected the surplus to widen only to €14.9 billion.
On a non-seasonally adjusted basis German Current Account surplus widened to €17.3 billion in June, from €11.2 billion in May and above forecasts of widening to €17 billion.
German Exports increased 0.6% in June, in comparison with the 2% drop in May, below market consensus of +1%. German Imports declined 0.8%, following a 1.4% rise and against forecasts of a 0.5% rise.
