Speculators trimmed net bullish positions on WTI Crude Oil

FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) showed speculators decreased their overall bullish bets last week.

The non-commercial contracts of crude oil futures, traded by large speculators, traders and hedge funds, witnessed a change of -5,494 contracts to total a net position of +320,212 contracts in the reporting time period - May 5th to May 12th. Long positions in oil futures decreased by -18,321 contracts while the short positions also fell by -12,827 contracts.

Meanwhile, during the reporting time period the WTI crude oil price edged slightly higher from UD 60.04 to USD 60.75/barrel.
