EUR/USD stays at lows as Greek talks continue

FXStreet (Córdoba) - EUR/USD steadied at daily lows after the latest recovery attempt was capped by the 1.0957 zone with Greek uncertainty keeping the shared currency on the back foot.

EUR/USD bottomed out at 1.0916 at the beginning of the New York session but with the subsequent bounce limited by the 1.0960 area, the pair was confined to a phase of consolidation over the last hours. At time of writing, the pair is trading at 1.0930, recording a 1.13% loss on the day.

Eurogroup to to discuss medium term Greek ESM program tomorrow

In the Greek front, media reports suggest Greece hasn’t submitted new proposals in written form, but the brand new finance minister Euclid Tsakalotos made a presentation at the Eurogroup meeting and will send a letter proposing new ESM request on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Eurogroup Chief Dijsselbloem says he is to hold a conference call tomorrow with the Eurogroup to discuss medium term Greek ESM program.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will meet German Chancellor Merkel and French President Hollande in Brussels before the summit.
