USD/CHF retreats toward 0.9450 after Fed minutes
FXStreet (Córdoba) - USD/CHF lost strength after the release of the minutes from the latest FOMC meeting that took place June 16-17. The US dollar dropped modestly in the market.
The pair fell from 0.9485 toward 0.9450. Currently trades at 0.9460, around the same level it closed yesterday. The pair continues to move between 0.9400 and 0.9515, as it had been the case since the beginning of July.
The Swiss franc rose versus the pound on Wednesday but fell considerably against the euro. EUR/CHF rose from below 1.0400 and reached momentarily levels on top of 1.0500.
Limited impact from the minutes
The Fed document showed that some officials warned about a rate hike and others thought that conditions are met for a liftoff. The minutes did not bring new arguments to investors. Regarding the Fed, the next event will be next week, when Janet Yellen will present the semi-annual monetary policy report at Congress.
