IMF revises 215 GDP forecast lower to 3.3%
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF), in its quarterly world economic outlook, revised the global growth forecast lower to 3.35 from 3.5%.
US and UK GDP forecast revised lower
The US 2015 GDP forecast is revised lower to 2.5% from 3.1%. The UK 2015 GDP forecast is also revised lower to 2.4% from 2.7%. Japanese 2015 GDP is seen at 0.8% vs 1.0% prior.
Meanwhile, Eurozone forecast is kept unchanged at 1.5% and Chinese GDP forecast is kept unchanged at 6.8%.
The IMF says the global growth forecasts downgrades largely reflects weak US Q1, which is termed as “temporary”.
