US industrial production rose 0.3% in June
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The US industrial production in June rose 0.3%, beating the estimate of a 0.2% rise. The output had contracted 0.2% in May.
Manufacturing last month excluding the output of automobiles rose 0.3% after a 0.1% decline. The headline manufacturing output stalled after an upwardly revised 0.0% in May. The details of the report reveal construction supplies and durable goods production fell, as did motor parts, but the mining industry saw a gain.
The official report also showed capacity utilization, which measures the amount of a plant that is in use, climbed to 78.4% from 78.2% the prior month.
