US stocks edge higher, Nasdaq closes at fresh record high

FXStreet (Córdoba) - US stocks edged slightly higher on Monday, but the Nasdaq managed to close at a record high for third straight session.

The Nasdaq Composite gained 8.72 points, or 0.17% to 5,218.86, closing at a record. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 13.96 points, or 0.08%, to 18,100.41. The S&P 500 gained 1.63 points, or 0.08%, to 2,128.27, less than 3 points below its all-time closing high.

Stocks wavered between small gains and losses following another round of earnings and as banks reopened in Greece after 3 weeks.

Obama to nominate Kathryn Dominguez as Fed Governor

US President Barack Obama chose Kathryn Dominguez, an economist at the University of Michigan, to join the Federal Reserve Board of Governors for a 14-year term.

GBP/USD closing the US in the red - FXStreet
