AUD/USD at 6-year lows sub-0.7300

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The Australian dollar came under renewed pressure and scored fresh 6-year lows versus the greenback on Friday weighed by a big miss in Chinese manufacturing PMI.

AUD/USD lost more than 100 pips throughout the day, breaking below the 0.7330/00 support area to a fresh low of 0.7259, last seen May 1 2009. The pair has managed to stabilize near lows during the last hours and it was last at 0.7274, recording a 1.03% loss on the day.

AUD/USD levels to watch

As for technical levels, immediate supports are seen at 0.7259 (6-year low Jul 24), 0.7240 (May 1 2009 low) and 0.7200 (psychological level). On the other hand, resistances could be found at 0.7327 (Jul 20 low), 0.7361 (Jul 24 high) and 0.7380 (10-day SMA).
