US stocks end lower ahead of US nonfarm payrolls
FXStreet (Córdoba) - US stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the Dow posting its sixth fall in a row, with media companies leading the decline as investors await US nonfarm payrolls report</strong>.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 120.72 points, or 0.69%, to end at 17,419.75. The S&P 500 Index lost 16.28 points, or 0.78%, to finish at 2,083.56. The Nasdaq Composite shed 83.50 points, or 1.62%, to finish at 5,056.44.
It was a light session data-wise, with investors taking a wait-and-see stance ahead of the so-awaited nonfarm payrolls. US reported initial jobless claims rose to 270K in the week ending Aug 1, having little effect on the dollar.
