Euro zone is now ‘more stable than at crisis peak’ – Germany’s Schaeuble
FXStreet (Mumbai) - Germany's Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble asked the Bundestag on Wednesday to approve the Greek bailout deal, noting it would be irresponsible to deny Greece a new start.
Introducing a third bailout deal to lawmakers in the German parliament, Schaeuble said, "Whether or not Greece uses this opportunity is up to the Greeks themselves. “It’s a good deal for Greece and for Europe," the minister claimed, and Germany "needs a strong Europe and that requires trust and solidarity."
Schaeuble added, there is already a positive outcome from the recent events as the euro zone is now "more stable than at crisis peak."
"For the German government it is essential for the IMF to participate in the bailout due to its expertise," and there is "no doubt that IMF will join" if conditions are met, he concluded.
