Wall Street retraces from highs and closes mixed
FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed a mixed Monday as investors were reluctant to take risks ahead of the Wednesday's FOMC meeting and after a batch of bittersweet economic data from industrial production and pending home sales.
The S&P rallied to a fresh all-time high of 1,764.69 and the DJIA closed just 1% ahead of record high. Major indexes are well placed to close the month with good gains.
The Dow Jones eased 1.35 points or 1.01% in the day to close at 15,568.93; the S&P 500 advanced 2.34 points or 0.13% to finish the session at 1,762.11; and the Nasdaq Composite declined 3.23 pts or 0.08% to 3,940.13.
