The Dow reaches a fresh record high amid hopes no taper in the short term
FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - Wall Street traded mixed on Wednesday as investors are assuming that the Federal Reserve will maintain the status quo unchanged with no tapering decision in the short term.
The Dow was up over 100 points to close at historic high while the Nasdaq fell dragged by the Tesla's share collapse of 14%. Volume was moderate ahead European central banks decision and US GDP and NFP numbers.
The Dow Jones advanced 128.66 points or 0.82% to close at 15,746.88; the S&P 500 added 7.52 points or 0.43% to finish the day at 1,770.49; and the Nasdaq Composite declined 7.91 pts or 0.20% to 3,931.95.
