US initial jobless claims rose 6K last week

The labor department data released today in the US showed the first time jobless claims rose slight in February, but stayed well below 300K mark.

The initial jobless claims rose 6K last week to 278K in the week ended Feb 27. Claims averaged 270k in Feb, compared to 285k in Jan, and 277k in Dec. Meanwhile, continuing claims printed at 2.257 million in the week ended Feb 20.
