Data from the Beijing-based General Administration of Customs released today showed China’s crude imports climbed to a record in the first quarter.
Country’s inbound shipments rose to 91.1 million metric tons in the first three months of the year. That means daily import of 7.34 million barrels, which is 6% higher than the previous quarter and 13% up from the same period last year.
However, imports for March dropped 4% from February’s record high of 7.71 million barrels per day.
