EUR/USD flirting with highs near 1.1150

The European currency is extending its bid tone at the end of the week, now sending EUR/USD to the upper end of the range near 1.1150.

EUR/USD firm ahead of US data

The pair is now accelerating its upside and remains on its way to challenge weekly highs seen on Thursday in the 1.1165/70 band, deriving extra support from the sharp climb in EUR/GBP.

In the data space, EMU’s CPI has matched preliminary readings for the month of June, while US inflation figures and Retail Sales will take centre stage later in the NA session.

EUR/USD levels to watch

The pair is now gaining 0.15% at 1.1138 facing the next hurdle at 1.1166 (high Jul.14) followed by 1.1184 (high Jul.5) and finally 1.1207 (base of the 6-month rising channel). On the other hand, a breakdown of 1.0999 (low Jul.8) would open the door to 1.0913 (post-Brexit low Jun.24) and then 1.0820 (low Mar.10).
