European stocks off to a higher start, IFO, earnings in focus
The stocks on the European bourses shrugged-off a not so impressive close to the Asian indices and kicked-off the week on a positive note, expectant of plenty of incentives from the auctioned-packed week ahead.
However, it remains to be seen if the equities manage to hold gains as the region’s corporate earnings reports are likely to keep the investors on the edge. While a poor German Ifo reading could also weigh on the sentiment around the European stocks.
Currently, Germany's DAX 30 index now rises +0.25% to 10,170, while the UK's FTSE index trades modestly higher at 6,735. Among other European indices, the French CAC 40 index advances +0.18% to 4,386, while the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 index gains +0.16% to 2,977 points.
