US: Initial Jobless Claims rise to 368,000
FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - Initial jobless claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits rose by 68,000 to a seasonally adjusted 368,000 in the week ended Dec 6, reaching the highest level in two months.
This reading came in above expectations at 320,000 and also above the 300,000 (revised up from 298,000) registered the previous week.
Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, rose by 40,000 to a seasonally adjusted 2.791 million in the week ended November 29 vs. 2.751 million in the previous week (revised).
