Lacker delivering hawkish rhetoric again, Asia makes little of it
Federal Reserve Lacker has been speaking through out the day overnight and now with other reporters in early Asia, offering hawkish rhetoric as usual, although not causing much of a stir in the markets as a non-voting member, while yesterday his comments had been supportive to the dollar's bullish outcome.
Lacker is seeing signs that inflation might be heating up and expects inflation to rise up to 2% while asset market prices are relatively high and he has said that there is a strong case for raising rates more rapidly. He also recently said that a strong jobs report will bolster the case for a US rate hike and that every meeting is a live meeting while job growth above 100K is still quite strong.
