Inflation expectations remain anchored (thanks to the ECB) – ECB’s B.Coeure
Benoit Coeure, member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, has defended the ECB policy saying that inflation expectations in the region have remained anchored as a result of the central bank’s measures.
Coeure also argued that there is little evidence of negative effects from the implementation of unconventional measures by the ECB, while he asserted that there are risks of financial instability if low rates contribute to the formation of asset bubbles.
