Key US election heads-up and key tips - Nomura
Analysts at Nomura offered some key details as we head into the Presidential Election day.
Key Quotes:
"The voters will head to the polls tomorrow. As the race for Presidency remains close, we are likely to know the outcome of the US presidential election late on Election Day or early the next morning. Note that a very tight election could delay the resolution even further as the results in critical states may be challenged, given the acrimony between the two parties. Moreover, there will likely be increased flow of information and analysis before and after the polls close on Election Day."
"A new company called VoteCastr said it will collect and release real time information on voter turnout in key states and make projections with these data. FiveThirtyEight and New York Times’ The Upshot will provide state-by-state live forecasts of the Presidential and Senate elections, in addition to covering breaking developments. However, given that the race is tight, we should be careful not to place too much weight on projections that will be reported while polls are open and on the projections that come out shortly after polls close."
