US retail sales rose more than expected in October
US retail sales rose a seasonally adjusted 0.8% in October from a month earlier, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. Expectations were for a 0.6% increase.
September’s sales were upwardly revised to 1.0% in September, from a previously reported 0.6% increase.
Excluding autos, sales also grew 0.8% last month, above the 0.4% gain expected.
