Wall Street closed higher amid upbeat US economic data
FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US stocks closed near to highs on Tuesday in a key reversal day according to technician experts. Investors cheered upbeat retail sales data and drove S&P 500 to best 2014 day and the Nasdaq to its highest close in 13 years.
The Dow Jones posted its first positive day in 5 sessions and it rose 115.92 points or 0.71% to end the day at 16,373.86; the S&P 500 added 19.68 pts or 1.08% to finish at 1,838.88; and the Nasdaq Composite won 69.71 pts or 1.69% to close the session at 4,183.02.
