AUD/USD eases lower after Asia range

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - An uneventful night down under saw AUD/USD range between 0.8826-0.8800, before edging lower into the European session to where it is presently trading at 0.8792.

AUD/USD shuffles lower towards 2010 low

Overnight had no major data for the pair, but earlier outgoing Fed Chairman Bernanke spoke to seemingly push back San Fran Fed Pres Williams contention that QE has left many unknowns ahead down the road, adding that “QE was founded on basic monetarist principles, and studies show that QE was at least somewhat effective.” With little data wise to inspire hope of significant movement, AUD/USD´s downward slope will cast eyes on yesterday´s low at 0.8775, which is also the low since August 2010.

Hourly RSI sits at 36, just above oversold territory. The daily pivot point can be found at 0.8839, with next support below at 0.8759 (S1), 0.8695 (S2), 9.8615 (S3) and resistance above at 0.8903 (R1), 0.8983 (R2), 0.9047 (R3).
