PM May faced accusations of presiding over “appalling” cuts to police numbers - The Times

The Times reported that "ministers are planning multimillion-pound cuts this year to a counter-terrorism budget described by Theresa May as being at “the heart of the UK’s response to the threat we face.”"

We are just days away from the UK elections on June 8th and the atrocities over the last few months in London could be swaying the results on election day. There have been three terrorist attacks in as little as just the same amount of months, slightly under in fact, and the UK public will not be supporting such cuts to the policing budget.

The Times has reported as follows:

"This year its budget is due to fall from £856 million to £824 million — a drop of 3.7 percent — before inflation is taken into account."

The article went on to explained that Prime Minister Theresa May faced "accusations yesterday of presiding over “appalling” cuts to police numbers. Home Office documents reveal reductions in funding to the Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism (OSCT). The unit is responsible for Britain’s overall terrorism strategy, both domestic and international, liaising with MI5, MI6 and the police. It also funds the government’s Prevent programme, which attempts to identify people at risk of being drawn into terrorism."
