Kremlin calls US statement on eastern Ukraine inappropriate - RTRS

Reuters reports comments from the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Wednesday, citing that Moscow regards a US statement linking the lifting of sanctions on Russia to its withdrawal from eastern Ukraine as inappropriate and incorrect.

Peskov noted: "We have repeatedly said Russia is not present on the territory of Donbass. This is why we consider such statements inappropriate and incorrect."

Kremlin statement comes out after the White House said on Tuesday, the US will continue its sanctions on Russia until Moscow withdrew from eastern Ukraine.
