Japanese PM Abe's LDP suffers major defeat in Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election
Japanese Prime Minister Abe's Liberal Democratic Party suffered a major defeat in the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election, projectd to take only 37 seats vs 57 prior to the election, in what represents LDP's worst result on record.
Meanwhile, Governor Yuriko Koike's Tokyo Citizens First party and its partners look set to obtain between 73 to 85 seats out of the 127 total number of seats.
The results are a maor red flag for the interest of PM Abe's party, as results in Tokyo can be taken as a reference for the general sentiment nationwide.
