Japan Consumer Confidence Index decreases to 40.5 in January from 41.3

It was an uneventful Asian session, with majors consolidating in very tight ranges ahead of the European open, and with no major events to take note of over the weekend other than the Swiss vote to set limits on immigration from European Union countries, which may have an impact on the CHF as Europe joins in.
