US: Consumer Price Index was unchanged in June on a seasonally adjusted basis

"The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) was unchanged in June on a seasonally adjusted basis," the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics announced on Friday.

Key highlights:

• Over the last 12 months, the all items index rose 1.6 percent this measure has been declining steadily since February when it was 2.7 percent.
• The energy index declined again in June, falling 1.6 percent; this offset an  increase in the index for all items less food and energy
• All the major energy component indexes declined, with the gasoline index falling 2.8 percent
• The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.1 percent in June, its third straight such increase
• The index for all items less food and energy rose 1.7 percent for the 12 months ending June, the same increase as for the 12 months ending May
