Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin – Federal borrowing limit must increase by Sept 29

In a letter to lawmakers Friday, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the federal borrowing limit, or debt ceiling, has to be increased by September 29 or the government risks running out of money to pay its bills.

The cash conservation measures employed by the Treasury Department since March  are expected to run out in early to mid-October.
