Analysts at UOB Bank noted that the Bank of England will announce its latest interest rate decision on Thursday.

"Apart from announcing its latest decision on interest rates, the bank will also publish the latest inflation report whilst Governor Carney will hold a press conference. The vote split and minutes of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will be an important focus, especially given the divergence of views on the committee."

"The most likely outcome is that a majority will back for no change in rates, especially as Kristin Forbes, who voted for a hike at the last three meetings, is no longer on the committee. There will be only 8 members of the committee with newly-appointed Sir David Ramsden not taking up his position until September."
