ECB's Coeure warns Eurozone recovery still weak
FXStreet (Łódź) - Speaking in Brussels on Thursday ECB Executive Board member Benoit Coeure stressd that the economic recovery in the Eurozone was still fragile and that national governments should do all they can not to reverse it.
The ECB policymaker assured that the central bank was aware that people in the countries under bailout programs were going through a lot of suffering. He added that the Governing Council wasn't currently discussing further restructuring of Greek debt.
On Wednesday Coeure's comment that the ECB is “very seriously” considering the introduction of negative deposit rates caused a 0.35% drop in the EUR against the USD, closing at 1.3588.
