UN Security Council condemns 'outrageous' North Korea missile launch

In a statement the UN Security Council condemned North Korea’s firing of a ballistic missile over Japan on Tuesday as an “outrageous” threat, Reuters reports.

The 15-member Security Council also demanded that Pyongyang not launch any more missiles and abandon all nuclear weapons and programmes.

The council also expressed “its commitment to a peaceful, diplomatic and political solution.”
