Europe: Day of manufacturing PMIs in the region – TDS

Analysts at TDS are looking for the UK manufacturing PMI to hold steady at 58.2 in December (mkt 57.7).

Key Quotes

“Although the decline in CPI orders and the recent weakness in UK equity markets points to some downside risk, the strength in most other countries’ flash PMIs for December is supportive enough to compensate.”

“SEK: We look for the manufacturing PMI to rise slightly from 63.3 to 63.6 in December, based on the strength in other European survey data that month and the general momentum seen in Swedish macro data.”

“NOK: We look for the manufacturing PMI to lose a bit of ground, slipping to 56.0 for December. November saw the PMI print at one of its highest levels of the last 5 years, and while many leading indicators are pointing to further, modest gains, we look for a return to more normal levels for the PMI.”

“EUR” For data today we just get the final readings of the manufacturing PMIs for December.”
