UK Feb industrial data: disappoints across all indicators

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) published the UK industrial and manufacturing production data on Wednesday, showing that the overall industrial activity came in below estimates in the month of February. Meanwhile, the manufacturing figures also disappointed markets.

Manufacturing output arrived at -0.2% m/m in Feb versus no growth seen in Jan, while total industrial output declined by 0.1% in the reported month, against a 1.3% increase seen previously.

On an annualized basis, the UK manufacturing production figures came in at 2.5% in Feb, missing expectations. Total industrial output also increased by 2.2% in Feb, below expectations of a 2.9% reading and against the previous 1.2% (revised lower) print.
