UK’s McDonnell: ‘We will keep the option of a second Brexit vote on the table’

The UK Finance Ministry Spokesman John McDonnell told Sky News on Monday, the Kingdom’s opposition Labour Party is likely to keep the option for a second referendum on any final Brexit deal on the table, Reuters reports.

Key Quotes:

“We believe general election is the best solution because people can then have a wide-ranging debate and also then choose the team that would then do the negotiations.”

“If we can’t get a general election, we’ve kept the option of People’s Vote on the table and that’s what we’ll go for, but I’d much prefer a general election.”

Separately, Robert Peston at ITV reported that the UK PM May will stick to her Chequers plan, despite the EU’s rejection last week.
