EU governments endorse next step in disciplinary procedure over Italy debt - Reuters

Citing an EU official familiar with the matter, Reuters reported that European Union governments' representatives supported the European Commission's disciplinary action against Italy over its budget proposal.

"The Economic and Financial Committee of the EU Council confirmed that a debt-based disciplinary procedure against Italy "is warranted," the official said," Reuters added.
